Velkommen til Volda!

Flyet er 1,5 time forsinket i Oslo, humøret er enda på topp og det er ikke noe å klage på ang været som møtte meg.

Det er imponerende at de velger å fly fra Stavanger retning Oslo for å komme seg til Volda, men men de om det. Fram kommer jeg uansett.

Uansett om du er her eller der, er verdens navle der du er.

Volda slår meg som en fantastisk plass på våren/sommertider, med snøfylte fjelltopper og godvær så må dette være noe av det fineste Norge har å by på.

Med en politistasjon som ligger «passivt» over bilbutikken (Toyota) rett utenfor hovedinngangen til flyplassen, så ligger Skeidar forsiktig trødd litt ned til venstre i sidesynet ditt. Med dette inntrykket skjønner du hvor lite stedet du er kommet til er.

Taxien stopper rett foran meg, ut kommer ei sprudlende sunnmørsgås med godt humør og med en genuin interesse for sitt yrket, praten går lett og førsteinntrykket av Volda blir bare bedre og bedre.

Den fineste dialekten er Sunnmørs – dialekten.

Det du ser over denne teksten er ikke et vandrerhjem, asylmottak, bedehus, studenthjem eller leirskole. Dette er Volda Turisthotel, hotellet med generelt dårlig smak for interiør og det nyskapende som 2016 har å by på. Velkommen til år 1960. Jeg er ikke kjent for å være kritiker utad men av og til så klarer jeg ikke å dy meg heller, men med kritikk må det følge noe positivt. Med en generelt dårlig standard og hvor tiden har stått stille så alt for lenge følger det med god service, nydelig senger og god mat, det var i hvertfall det Sunnmørsgåsa sa i taxien.

Ferdig utpakket på hotellet går turen ned til sentrum for å finne  noe å spise, turen byr allerede på mye inntrykk, alt i fra mennesker som trener mage,rompe, lår nede på ei flytebrygge midt i sentrum en sen tirsdagskveld til russ som kjører 3476 ganger fram og tilbake nede ved «stripa» mens de hører på Donk Donk musikk!

Det å finne noe mat viser seg å være vanskeligere en antatt, lite visste jeg om at Volda er som Søndager i Stavanger, da alle restauranter var låst og lukket før kl var 21:00. ( på en Tirsdag).

Etter å ha svelget alle inntrykkene og mannet meg opp til å spørre om veien til nærmeste matsted så møter jeg på en gjeng russ som har valgt å kjøpe sparkesykkel på Europris framfor dyre russebusser, lån og store anlegg. De blir rett og slett mine reddende engler i denne situasjonen, er det en ting russen vet så er det hvor man kan få mat. Det stod mellom tre forslag, Kebaben, Statoil eller den lokale pizzeriaen rett i nærheten. Det ble pizzeriaen rett i nærheten.

 

I morgen skal det holdes foredrag om barnevern og Landsforeningen for barnevernsbarn for studentene på høgskolen i Volda.
